Meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia

On April 30, 2025, a meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Ankara) Fathudin Ali Mohamed.

During the meeting, issues on further strengthening of Turkmen-Somali relations were discussed. The parties noted that holding political consultations between the foreign ministries of two countries would serve as a valuable impetus for the further development of bilateral cooperation.

The interlocutors also discussed the issue of the Somali side’s participation in the International Forum for Peace and Trust, to be held on December 12, 2025.

The mutual intention to intensify bilateral cooperation in various areas was confirmed, with an emphasis on expanding cooperation in the trade-economic sphere and improving the legal framework. In this regard, the importance of the participation of business representatives from both countries in international economic events held in Turkmenistan and Somalia was noted.

In addition, mutual commitment to expanding ties in the cultural and humanitarian sphere was noted.
