THE DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN TOOK PART IN THE ASTANA ECONOMIC FORUM

On May 16-17, 2019, the next XII Astana Economic Forum (hereinafter - AEF) was held in Nur-Sultan city, which was attended by delegates from 74 countries of the world. Nobel prize winner in Economics and the chief economist at the World Bank Paul Romer, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia Herman Gref, President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and other high-level politicians, experts and representatives of the business community were the Forum speakers.

On the occasion of the Astana Economic Forum, a visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan A.Ishanov was organized. The head of the delegation of Turkmenistan attended the plenary session on the occasion of the opening of the AEF with the participation of Nursultan Nazarbayev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Then there was a meeting of the head of the Turkmen delegation with the Head of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin. During the meeting issues of bilateral relations between the two states were discussed, and A.Ishanov invited Askar Mamin to the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments on May 31 in Ashgabat.
