THE AMBASSADOR OF KAZAKHSTAN MET WITH THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN

On April 25, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Askar Tazhibayev.

During the conversation, R. Meredov congratulated the Ambassador of Kazakhstan on his appointment to a responsible position, wished him success in his diplomatic activities. They also discussed issues of strengthening relations between the two countries, including the comprehensive expansion of bilateral political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

Diplomats considered a wide range of issues related to the implementation of existing interstate agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan in October 2021.

The parties also raised issues related to holding the VI Caspian Summit in Turkmenistan this year.

The positive experience of cooperation was emphasized, as well as the importance of mutual support for international undertakings and initiatives within the framework of authoritative regional and international platforms, primarily the UN. In this context, the parties noted the need to organize contacts at the highest level, both in the format of bilateral visits and within the framework of multilateral structures.

During the meeting, Ambassador Askar Tazhibayev presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and stressed that during his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan he would make every effort to further expand and strengthen Turkmen-Kazakh relations.
