MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN

Today, on June 29, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, who arrived in our country to participate in the VI Summit of the Heads of the Caspian States.

Having warmly greeted each other, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the exceptionally fruitful nature of the established interstate dialogue, which in the modern era has acquired a new content. Clear evidence of this is the agreements reached during the recent official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It was emphasized that our states, connected by geographic proximity and common historical and cultural roots, in mutual interests realize the existing huge potential for cooperation, which includes dozens of implemented and planned joint projects.

Speaking about the prospects for traditional partnership, the hallmarks of which have always been trust and mutual respect, the parties spoke in favor of strengthening bilateral relations in all areas.

The heads of the two neighboring states, also emphasizing the importance of stimulating fruitful humanitarian contacts, spoke in favor of building up traditional relations in the field of education, science and culture, as well as continuing the practice of organizing joint events.
