Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran for Economic Affairs

On November 7, 2025, at the MFA premises the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Economic Affairs Hamid Ghanbari.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The sides noted the importance of high-level meetings in expanding bilateral friendly relations.

Trade and economic cooperation were highlighted as key areas of partnership. In this context, the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized, and the sides confirmed their readiness to implement the agreements reached during the commission's last meeting.

The agenda also included issues of developing cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and increasing transport and transit potential.

At the end of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening the Turkmen-Iranian partnership, based on the fundamental principles of friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutual respect.
