On the Meeting with the Director of the WTO Accession Division

On 19 May 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Director of the WTO Accessions Division Maika Oshikawa.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the World Trade Organization, in particular on further steps regarding the country’s accession to the WTO.

The sides exchanged views on regional and international trade and economic cooperation, the improvement of the national regulatory and legal framework, as well as collaboration with international organizations and relevant institutions.

The consistency of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the WTO was emphasized at the meeting.

Within the framework of the visit of the Director of the WTO Accessions Division to Ashgabat, a meeting is planned with representatives of the Government Commission on Studying Issues related to Turkmenistan’s Accession to the WTO.
