International Scientific and Practical Conference Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence Held in Dushanbe

On 21 September 2026, an international scientific and practical conference entitled “The 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan: New Horizons of Turkmen-Tajik Friendship and Deepened Strategic Partnership” was held in Dushanbe.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The conference was attended by representatives of government bodies, scientific and educational institutions, the diplomatic corps, public organizations and mass media, as well as experts and specialists from the two countries.

The conference featured a substantive exchange of views on current issues and promising areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation. Participants emphasized the special importance of the traditional relations of friendship and good-neighborliness between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, as well as the consistent development of strategic partnership between the two states.

Particular attention was paid to the current state and prospects for cooperation in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, scientific and educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The speakers highlighted the important role of regular interstate dialogue, mutual visits and contacts at various levels in further strengthening Turkmen-Tajik relations.

A thematic exhibition was also organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of the conference.

The book exhibition featured works by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The exhibition also included publications showcasing the achievements of modern Turkmenistan in various fields, the country’s history, and the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.

The photo exhibition dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses, the national heritage and pride of the Turkmen people, attracted considerable interest among participants and guests. The photographs presented the unique beauty and grace of the world-renowned Akhal-Teke horses, which hold a special place in the history, culture and centuries-old traditions of the Turkmen people.
