Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain accredited in Turkmenistan

On March 4, 2025, on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairwoman of the Mejlis D.Gulmanova received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Turkmenistan Ricardo Martinez Vazquez.

On behalf of the President, the head of the national Parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post, wishing him success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Having thanked for the kind words, the Ambassador in turn conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the Leadership of Spain.

During the conversation, the Chairwoman of the Mejlis informed the diplomat about key aspects of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, the large-scale national programs being implemented, and the reforms aimed at the progressive socio-economic development of the country.

As noted, the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with European countries is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s peaceful foreign policy. In this regard, great importance is attached to strengthening the traditional constructive dialogue with Spain.

The diplomat was also given a detailed overview of the structure of the Mejlis and its activities to ensure the legislative basis for reforms carried out in various sectors.

Expressing gratitude for the fruitful meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain Ricardo Martinez Vazquez emphasized that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, assuring that he would make every effort to further develop friendly bilateral relations.
