Meeting of Co-Chairmen of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ashgabat
On 30 October 2024, a meeting took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Co-Chairmen of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation - Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk.
During the talks in a narrow format, the sides discussed key aspects of partnership between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
Then the meeting continued in the enlarged format with participation of the heads and representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan and Russia.
The parties emphasized the significance of this meeting aimed at considering current issues of cooperation, as well as search for new forms of joint work.
Participants of the session exchanged views on further implementation of ongoing projects, including those in transport, electricity and others.
The parties underlined the significant role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation in the development of constructive bilateral partnership.
The sides noted the presence of favorable opportunities for further expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties, including in the field of healthcare, science and education.
