Turkmenistan and Türkiye attain a new level of cooperation in the field of education

On February 24-25, 2025, the delegation headed by the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamurat Gurbangeldiyev paid a working visit to Ankara.

The main objective of the visit was to participate in the 4th  meeting of the Council for Cooperation in Education between Turkmenistan and Türkiye. It was held in the premises of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye on January 25.

The delegations were headed by Minister of Education of Turkmenistan J.Gurbangeldiyev and Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye Y.Tekin.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of partnership in the field of education.  The positive experience of interaction between institutions of higher education of two countries was noted. 

In order to strengthen ties between secondary and specialized educational institutions, the sides agreed to organize meetings and seminars at relevant levels and promote the exchange of best practices in the development of modern curricula and teaching methods.

In addition, in the framework of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan, a meeting with the President of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye Erol Özvar was held in the premises of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE).

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for enhancing cooperation in science and education, including issues of reforming the higher education system, organizing short-term courses for Turkmen students and teachers, joint research and publication of scientific articles.

The parties expressed interest in organizing mutual visits and holding joint conferences, seminars and master classes in higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and Türkiye. In addition, they discussed issues related to the education of Turkmen students in the universities of the Republic of Türkiye.
