The delegation of Turkmenistan participates in the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand

The delegation headed by Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan A.Shamyradov, is participating in the 43rd session of the General Conference of UNESCO – the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which is taking place in the city of Samarkand from 30 October to 13 November 2025.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Ch.Rustamova, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the French Republic and Permanent Representative to UNESCO M.Charyev, as well as the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Meredov.

According to the agenda, the issues related to empowering youth, strengthening peace and social unity, integrating cultures in the digital age, developing sustainable tourism and preserving cultural heritage, as well as enhancing cooperation and the exchange of experience among national commissions were addressed at the session.

During the conference, Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan A.Shamyradov made a speech in which he emphasized the key vectros of the Commission’s work and the significance of international cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. It was noted that Turkmenistan’s active participation in UNESCO’s work contributes to strengthening mutual understanding among peoples and advancing common goals in the fields of education, science, culture and communication.
