From 4 to 6 June 2026, the second meeting of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia is being held in Tashkent, bringing together representatives of government institutions, international organizations, expert and analytical centers from Europe, the CIS, the Americas, the Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia.

A delegation of Turkmenistan is also participating in the event, comprising representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

The forum focuses on strengthening interregional cooperation, enhancing transport and transit connectivity, expanding trade and economic ties, ensuring energy security, and developing sustainable logistics routes between Central and South Asia.

In the current environment, the development of connectivity has become increasingly important for ensuring sustainable economic growth and enhancing the competitiveness of the countries of the region. In this context, the implementation of major infrastructure projects aimed at expanding transport and energy corridors plays a significant role.

Projects implemented with the participation of Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, transport and communications, including the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication systems, are of particular importance for strengthening interregional connectivity. These initiatives are aimed at expanding economic cooperation and creating new opportunities for the sustainable development of the countries of the region.

Special attention during the discussions is being devoted to promoting the socio-economic development of Afghanistan and facilitating its integration into regional cooperation processes. It is emphasized that the implementation of joint infrastructure, transport and humanitarian initiatives can make a substantial contribution to strengthening peace, good-neighborliness and sustainable development across Central and South Asia.

The forum participants are also considering issues related to the climate agenda, rational use of water resources, environmental security and human capital development. The importance of expanding educational and scientific cooperation, training qualified professionals and introducing modern digital solutions is highlighted.

The Termez Dialogue confirms the growing interest of regional countries in developing practical cooperation, strengthening mutual trust and establishing effective mechanisms of interregional interaction in the interests of common peace, stability and prosperity.
