The successive session of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ankara

On February 24-25, 2025, the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ankara within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Türkiye.
At the meeting, the delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev and the delegation of the Republic of Türkiye by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
Opening the meeting, the Co-Chairmen of the Commission noted with satisfaction the high level of development of Turkmen-Turkish relations based on the principles of equality and mutual trust.
The sides expressed gratitude to the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye for their attention to the development of interstate dialog and emphasized that the meetings of the Joint Commission serve as an effective platform for discussing present issues of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting of the Commission, the heads of specialized ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan and Türkiye got acquainted with the relevant economic indicators and discussed the implementation of measures envisaged by the working plan for the past period.
The participants of the meeting noted the positive dynamics of trade turnover between the two countries. Energy, trade, investments, banking sector, transportation and logistics, urban development and agriculture were named as priorities of interaction.
Special emphasis was placed on the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Türkiye in the oil and gas sector. Further steps within the framework of joint work in the current year were outlined.
In addition, the sides discussed opportunities to intensify contacts in science and education, healthcare, tourism and environmental protection.
At the meeting, the parties noted the importance of continuing active dialogue within the framework of bilateral and multilateral events organized both in Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye.
The Outcome Protocol of the Commission was signed upon completion of the meeting.

On the margins of the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev also held a bilateral meeting with Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz.
During the meeting, the sides highly appraised the current level of bilateral ties in a wide range of fields, which is primarily facilitated by regular and trusting dialog at the highest political level.
Special emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of the previously reached agreements between the two countries.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the pace of development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Türkiye in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.
